Chris Berman, who has been a staple of ESPN's coverage since the network was created in the late '70s, will be on the play-by-play mic for the second game of the opening week Monday Night Football doubleheader.
Berman and ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer will team up to broadcast the San Diego Chargers-Oakland Raiders game for week one of the NFL season on Sept. 10. That game will follow the first Monday night matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, which will have the regular crew of Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden in the booth.
Berman, who has been the anchor for ESPN's Sunday Night Countdown for 28 years, will get a preseason warm-up with Dilfer as they will be on the call for ESPN's preseason broadcast of the Arizona Cardinals-Tennessee Titans on Aug. 23.
