The contracts keep rolling off the printer in Carolina.

After starting the new year with a bang by giving new deals to defensive end Charles Johnson and running back DeAngelo Williams, the Panthers have continued to keep some of their talented, young players in place in a massive spending spree that is a result of their cost-cutting moves a year ago.

The latest to be paid? Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that linebackers Thomas Davis and James Anderson have new five-year contracts. There was some concern Anderson would bolt as an unrestricted free agent. Now, the Panthers have paid three defensive starters to remain for new head coach Ron Rivera.

Davis has had two knee surgeries but general manager Marty Hurney said the training staff is convinced he is healthy.

Carolina has also agreed to pay kicker Olindo Mare. Who’s next?
