Future in Philadelphia questionable for lineman Brad Biggs
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Shawn Andrews had back surgery for the second time in two years today.
Andrews had a two level microscopic lumbar discectomy in California that was performed by Dr. Robert Watkins.
“The surgery went well,’’ Watkins’ office said in a release. “The prognosis is very good that he will return to play after an appropriate rehabilitation program.”
Andrews received a second opinion in Dallas before going forward with the surgery. At the end of the year, he will have missed nearly two full seasons. The Eagles extended the contract of right tackle Winston Justice through 2013, and Andrews’ future in Philadelphia is iffy at best. Still, if he does recover fully, everyone can use talented linemen.

Talib is dealing with a pulled hamstring, and he aggravated the injury in practice on Wednesday, and sat out practices on Thursday and Friday. In the event Talib cannot go, he will be replaced by Elbert Mack.
