Sheldon Brown has gotten to the point that he’s counting every hour his hamstring has to heal up before the Philadelphia Eagles tangle with the Chicago Bears Sunday night at Soldier Field.
The veteran cornerback hasn’t missed a game in eight seasons, a string of 133 consecutive regular and postseason games. With the injuries the Eagles are facing right now in the secondary—Ellis Hobbs was lost for the season last week and nickel cornerback Joselio Hanson was suspended four games for violation of the league’s policy on anabolic steroids and related substances—Brown might be the last player the team can afford to lose.
He’s been listed as questionable for the game but has vowed to play.
“I have two days,” Brown said Friday after he was limited in practice for the third consecutive day. “And the good thing about it is it's Sunday night, so I have all day to rehab, too.”
Coach Andy Reid sounded somewhat optimistic about Brown’s chances following the Friday practice, but the Eagles have a backup plan in place that involves Dimitri Patterson and perhaps recent pickup Ramzee Robinson.
Stay tuned for how this one plays out.

Play the same base defense. Slot Tramon in for Harris and leave Woodson exactly where he is. Wouldn't hurt if Collins stepped it up a bit. Might just be time for Bush to decide if he can actually play in this league.
