Drinking and driving kills lives and the charge of DUI kills jobs.
That’s the lesson Marcus Johnson learned today as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had him walk the plank only hours after Tampa police had him walk the line after they allegedly discovered him asleep behind the wheel at about 4 a.m. at a busy intersection outside Raymond James Stadium and blocks from some notorious night spots. Johnson was charged with DUI and was booked into jail at about 6 a.m.
The Bucs whacked Johnson and also released center Sean Mahan now that veteran Jeff Faine is healthy and back from a triceps injury. Tampa promoted offensive tackle James Lee from the practice squad. The Bucs also signed linebacker Lee Robinson to the practice squad and released outside linebacker Eric Bakhtiari.
Technically, NFL teams are not permitted to hand out discipline for off-field incidents like this. Johnson played previously in Minnesota and Oakland.

Doesn't matter - beating spreads, fantasy football, whatever. The NFL doesn't want to be tied in any way to anything remotely resembling gambling. If the links to Mandalay, etc aren't down by tomorrow I'd be surprised.
