Redskins TE had ankle surgery a month ago Brad Biggs
It was four weeks ago tomorrow that Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley underwent surgery to have three pins inserted into his right ankle.
The feeling, at the time, was that the Pro Bowl player would be able to return to action in December. Now, it appears that may have been wishful thinking. Making a radio appearance this morning in Washington on DC-101 (a one-time home to Howard Stern) on Elliot in the Morning, Cooley said that he is likely headed to the season-ending injured reserve list. So reports the Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg, who in attempting to retrieve audio from Cooley’s appearance wound up on the air himself.
The Redskins are going nowhere this season. Shutting down Cooley for the year probably make sense because there is no reason to risk further injury to him.
