Biggs: Dallas RT Colombo could be lost for season

The Dallas Cowboys lost veteran right tackle Marc Colombo during the second quarter this afternoon at Green Bay with what could be a season-ending injury.

Colombo suffered a broken left fibula when Packers defensive tackle Johnny Jolly rolled up on the back of his leg. Colombo was taken for X-rays and the injury was announced.

Colombo has a streak of 57 consecutive starts. The first-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears in 2002, his career nearly ended when he suffered nerve damage in his left knee. But he left he Bears, where he seemingly couldn’t heal up, and quickly worked into playing shape with the Cowboys.

Doug Free, a fourth-round draft pick from Northern Illinois in 2007, replaced Colombo.
