The Dallas Cowboys will sign running back Chauncey Washington from their practice squad to the 53-man roster today, a league source said.

Felix Jones will miss at least Sunday’s game with a sprained ligament in his left knee, and Marion Barber is returning from a quad injury. Washington, who was signed to the practice squad 11 days ago. Washington, a seventh-round pick from USC last year by Jacksonville, was one of the final cuts of the Jaguars.

There is a chance Washington could get some work on offense, but the more likely scenario is he becomes a core special teams player for Joe DeCamillis, who was his special teams coach in Jacksonville last year.

To make room for Washington, Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reported that safety Marvin White will be waived. White was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals at final cuts.
