Eagles safety fined for two penalties at Atlanta Brad Biggs
’Tis the season for giving.
Just ask Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Demps. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Demps was fined $12,500 by the NFL for two personal fouls in Sunday’s victory at Atlanta.
Demps was penalized for hitting Falcons quarterback Chris Redman in the head area, and for a late hit on wide receiver Roddy White.
It’s a big hit for Demps, who is in his second season and has a base salary of $385,000. That means his weekly check is $22,647 pre-taxes. Knock the $12,500 out of his check this week, and he’s a little light on the wallet right about now.
"It's Christmas time and I don't want to be giving away free money," Demps said.
