The Atlanta Falcons have swapped out long snappers, placing veteran Mike Schneck on season-ending injured reserve with what is believed to be a rib injury.

The Falcons signed Bryan Pittman to take his place. Pittman served as the long snapper for the Houston Texans from 2003 to 2008, and he spent time with Seattle during the offseason. He had a string of 598 successful snaps from 2003 to 2007.

Schneck was the Falcons’ long snapper for the last two seasons. He snapped previously in Buffalo and Pittsburgh.

The Bears aren’t the only team with an injured wide receiver. The Cardinals’ Anquan Boldin has been dealing with a sprained right ankle for nearly a month now. He was also held out of practice Wednesday.
