On the morning of the second NFC Championship Game in three seasons for Brett Favre, Fox Sports’ John Czarnecki reports that Brett Favre hinted to the network’s Pam Oliver that he knows what he’s going to do next year.
Of course, Favre doesn’t come out and say if he’s in or if he’s out. Would you expect anything less from the 40-year-old gunslinger at this point? And who is to say whatever he’s thinking now he won’t be thinking come, say, late August?
Favre has had a remarkable season and there’s little doubt he’s the difference the Vikings needed to reach this point, one win shy of Super Bowl XLIV. There’s also little doubt Favre has little interest in a full offseason program. But that hasn’t stopped him from playing the last couple seasons, has it?
Specaultion will be rampant regarding Favre and 2010. If the Vikings can close the season with two victories, it’s probably a fair bet that would prompt him to ride off into the sunset. Anything short of that, and there will always be doubt about Favre and his desire to play when the 2010 season comes near. Right?

The Vikings better get someone better than what they have now as a backup quarterback because Jackson won't cut it. They know they won't get this far next year without Favre and will do everything they can to have him come back. Childress can thank Favre for that contract extention.
In this Favre was acting pretty much like a responsible reporter on the national security beat: he's got this great insider source, but the source has led him astray in the past, so on this sensitive issue he's determined to check out other more reliable sources for confirmation before he's willing to risk his credibility by going public. I have an idea as to who might be his source, and speaking for myself I wouldn't trust him not to break down completely.
Hey, Thanks for nailing it down.
Really good reporting,.... or was there any actual reporting in this story or just complete B##$$%t!
My hint is you should try to do a much better job, cause this is NOT A STORY!
And if you think it is, please throw yourself under a dumptruck.
and the Cowboys moved on to Suisham, a former Cowboy, and it didn’t get any better as the team finished with a 64.5 percent field goal percentage, a woeful number.
