Devin Hester has maintained all along that he will be ready to go Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, and the Chicago Bears wide receiver took a step in that direction as he took to the Halas Hall practice fields this morning for the first time this week.

Hester suffered a sprained right ankle last Sunday against Cleveland, and was held out of practices on Wednesday and Thursday. But he was suited up for action today, and that reinforces what he and coach Lovie Smith have said all week.

Hester has developed into a trusted target for quarterback Jay Cutler. His 21 receptions over the last three games are the second most in the NFL in that period, and Hester leads the Bears with 35 receptions for 454 yards, not far off the 51-665 he produced last season.

The official injury report will be released this afternoon. Arizona has an injured receiver of its own in Anquan Boldin, who is also battling a sprained ankle.
