LAKE FOREST, Ill.—Devin Hester was still somewhat of an unknown rookie the last time the Bears faced the Cardinals.
That was until his 83-yard punt return capped a furious rally from 20 points down in a 24-23 victory that became known as the “Miracle on Monday Night” back in 2006 during the early portion of the Bears’ Super Bowl run.
Right now, Hester isn’t looking so good for the next meeting between the teams Sunday. Hester is missing practice this afternoon, and was limping with a sprained right ankle suffered late in Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns. Hester only came out of the game briefly, but he was noticeably limping at Halas Hall this afternoon. He’s been key for quarterback Jay Cutler and has 21 receptions over the last three games, second in the NFL to only Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald.
The hope for the Bears is that he will improve as the week goes along. Arizona is without its own big-play wide receiver. Anquan Boldin sat out practice with a right ankle sprain that has been hampering him since Oct. 11.

Not a lot of things are going right for the Bears. Hester's performance has been one of the very few bright spots. This news is not good. The injury bug is killing us this year. Urlacher, Tiniosamoa, and now Hester - three major stars with injuries.
