LAKE FOREST, Ill.—Devin Hester vowed on Wednesday that he will play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at Soldier Field, but he is missing his second consecutive day of practice this afternoon.
Hester is sidelined again with a sprained right ankle, although he didn’t look to be hobbling around as much as he was on Wednesday. The injury was suffered near the end of the victory over the Cleveland Browns.
At this point, the hope for the Bears is that Hester can do some work on Friday in preparation for the game. However, coach Lovie Smith does not have a hard rule that players have to practice during the week in order to play in a game.
The Bears aren’t the only team with an injured wide receiver. The Cardinals’ Anquan Boldin has been dealing with a sprained right ankle for nearly a month now. He was also held out of practice Wednesday.
Stay tuned.

The official injury report will be released this afternoon. Arizona has an injured receiver of its own in Anquan Boldin, who is also battling a sprained ankle.
