Not quite a Cabo getaway during playoff bye weekend Brad Biggs
Tony Romo had a final fling before the Dallas Cowboys go headlong into the month of December, the month that has sunk them lately.
Romo and wide receiver Miles Austin had a Las Vegas getaway following the team’s victory over Oakland on Thanksgiving. It wasn’t a Mexico getaway with Jessica Simpson, but it was enough to catch the attention of TMZ.com before Tiger Woods went offroading in his neighbor’s yard.
The players left shortly after the Cowboys’ victory and were back in time for Romo to get treatment on his sore back Saturday morning.
“I don’t want to be naive, and I recognize that Las Vegas has a certain connotation," said owner Jerry Jones on his weekly radio show Tuesday morning. "I too don’t want to be jumping on that either. They need all the pep-up they can get out there in Las Vegas, and that’s where many of us go and it’s a respite. But I think we all understand how we would point to that and think, 'Well, OK, Las Vegas.’?”
If the Cowboys play well on Sunday against the New York Giants, all will be forgotten. If not, everything will come into focus, even a little Vegas junket.
