A Louisiana politician is proposing that the state create a vanity license plate to commemorate the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl championship and the “Who Dat nation.”

Sen. A.G. Crowe, a Republican from Slidell, proposed the plan according to a report in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The plate would incorporate the Saints’ fleur de lis logo, the state seal and the phrase “Who Dat nation.” Crowe said he plans to speak with NFL officials, and that’s an awful good idea because they got awful edgy about use of the term Who Dat with any trademarked logos.

Crowe said the plan would be to use revenue created from sales of the plates to fund a worthy cause that would be decided on between the government and the Saints organization, calling it "a pot of black and gold for someone, thanks to the world champion New Orleans Saints."

Crowe estimates the sales of Saints license plates could help generate $1 million in additional revenue, a good idea if the money is poured into a worthy cause and not put into the bureaucratic machine. Politcis in Louisiana, of course, are known for being curious at times.

“We will be talking with the Saints for their input and any concerns they might have,” Crowe said.

Romo is a clown. If Shanahan is doing this for any reason besides helping the guy out with an interview, it's a colossal mistake.
