Minnesota Avenue on the northeast side of Green Bay is no longer.

Mayor Jim Schmitt with the help of a public works employee saw to that on Thursday as the sign for the short dead-end street was taken down, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

In its place?

Aaron Rodgers Drive.

Yes, they’re getting geared up for Favrepalooza II in what they like to call Title Town. The plan is for Rodgers to autograph the street sign after this weekend and then it will be donated to charity. The Minnesota Ave. sign will be restored on Monday.

A cynic might wonder if the Rodgers sign will make it through the weekend or whether mischievous Packers of Vikings fans might want to get their hands on it.

This is what happens when there's absolutely nothing to do in a small town in the middle of nowhere... I wonder if they've celebrated the local cow's birthdays yet.

Daniel: What is your problem with folks having some fun? I've lived all over the world. NYC is the biggest small town in the world, with most of it's natives never going to the Statute of Liberty or setting foot in the Met. And trust me when I say doing ANYTHING in NYC is a far bigger hassle than Green Bay. So are you one of these people who wraps himself in some sort of superiority because you live someplace with a greater population.? Are your Walmarts better?

A similar thing hapenned before the NFC championship game against the Giants. Someone put a red X across the New York Ave. street sign. That didn't work out so well. I have to wonder why these people are so concerned about defacing and replacing street signs when the Packers play a big game at home.

Daniel: Do you know the "local cow's" name? Because according to your sophisticated, expert punctuation, there's only one. Or is it their's? Or they're's? Thears? And how many "birthdays" does the local cow get? Maybe you should ask the local cow you're dating or married to, she might know.

Isn't it a little early to be naming streets after a qb with 0 playoff wins???

I am a business owner in GB and think it is great. GB is a great place to live, play and work. Where else would you find this sort of entertainment, and support for the team? Just go to betterbythebay.com which is a local branding effort because GB is much more than the Packers.

Personally, folks .... I would have left this "dead end" (?) short little street name as it was..... It has symmetry if you think it over, just a bit. Also, what kind of message, or impression will that give to others, when it comes to Aaron Rodgers, when everyone else who has a street name gets something waay better. (??)

Obviously - as you can see from some of the other (anti-packerfans ?) who are already having a bit of a joke anyway..... it leads to the wrong headed conclusions I was thinking about before I saw the comments.

Rodgers has grabbed a QB stat that not even Brett Favre could grab onto .... and we all should be real proud to say HE IS A PACKER .... It really could have turned into a ALEX SMITH, or RYAN LEAF situation. Let's not start sneering just because we didn't win the SuperBowl, this time around. We got jobbed in AZ, by Scott Green - was that due to the NFL not wanting Green Bay to meetup with Minnesota yet a 3rd time? It does bring up the question.... especially since Green worked real hard to avoid that same tactic in New Orleans.

I like our New Quarterback .... gonna shake his hand if I can, this next season.

Arron Rodgers over Minnesota. I like the sound of that!

Green Bay is a great town. Much more liveable than most of the Metropolis' in this country, and the home of a great sports franchise.

Farve is a traitor to decent Packer fans. He went to Minnesota for revenge...nothing more. They should boo him every time he takes the field.
