5th round pick from '07 has been top special teams performer Brad Biggs
Tarell Brown cashed in with the San Francisco 49ers today as the cornerback agreed to a three-year extension that is worth $7.125 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, including a $2.5 million signing bonus.
He has gotten time as a nickel back and is one of the Niners more solid contributors on special teams. Brown was a fifth-round draft pick from Texas in 2007.
“I practice every day like I’m a starter,’’ Brown said. “I’m going to put forth that effort in whatever I do.
“I want to be here. I love this team. I love what coach (Mike Singletary) is doing. I love the organization, so we just came to a conclusion and I’m here.’’
The extension will carry Brown through the 2013 season, and provides him some security moving forward with the threat of a work stoppage in 2011.
