The Washington Redskins are still selling John Riggins.

The Hall of Fame running back might have called owner Daniel Snyder a bad guy whose “heart is dark,’’ but he didn’t say anything about him being a bad businessman.

John RigginsAPJerseys like the one worn by John Riggins here remain for sale through the Redskins' official Web site.

Riggins jerseys and autographed memorabilia are selling hot on the team’s official Web site, or at least they remain for sale, an ideal gift for the jaded ’Skins fan in your family. The loud and brash Riggins has been firing on Snyder and others who run the organization, including personnel man Vinny Cerrato and coach Jim Zorn, all season via a YouTube account he has. Those playful but pointed commentaries turned personal when Riggins, one of the more celebrated players in franchise history, went after Snyder on Wednesday on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL.’’

It prompted defensive coordinator Greg Blache, in his sixth season with the organization, to step up Thursday and end a four-week media boycott to defend the owner. Blache made reference to some very personal things Snyder has done to assist him and his family in recent years, and said that the piling on Snyder had gone too far.

“I’m not going to tell you that this is a utopia,’’ Blache said. “There are no utopias in football, and there are no utopias in life. At the same time, enough is enough.”

Riggins acknowledged at the beginning of his Showtime interview that he’s been in radio and television for 15 or 20 years now. He was a showman and anti-establishment when he played. He remains that today. It will be interesting to see if his commentary sells in Washington, where fans don’t care what kind of guy the owner is if the team was winning. Remember, Jack Kent Cooke rarely captured the hearts of those who filled RFK Stadium. He just won.

At least you know the Redskins are still selling Riggins.

Key point: Jack Kent Cooke won. Snyder has not. JKC did what was best for the team to win. Was he a jacka$$ sometimes? Sure he was, but he loved football and he loved the Redskins. What the heck is the Snyder doing? So far, he's hired, fired and retired lots of high-dollar coaches and players that do more for his ego than for the team. He's made one bad decision after another that have be detrimental to the team and to the fans. Skins fans have had enough so we appreciate Riggo for being our voice.

The only thing that Snyder has done since he has been here is drain our pockets! We pay way too much to park and tailgate to watch a less than average team play football! I think even if we did win, Snyder's time is running out here! We are fed up with his ways of doing business and we feel as though we have been ripped off for far too long! I appreciate Riggo and what he is doing! He is our voice to express how we feel collectively!
