The Washington Redskins may have caught a break.
No, they don’t have anymore winless clubs ahead of them on their schedule. They aren’t going to find any help there. However, they might not be without tight end Chris Cooley for the remainder of the season. The initial word was the Pro Bowl performer would be out for the year after suffering a fractured ankle Monday night in the Redskins’ 27-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field. Now, the hope is that he will return before the end of November.
Cooley announced on his Twitter account that he will have three pins inserted in his right ankle on Wednesday. He hopes to be back in four weeks. He chipped a bone at the base of his tibia and coach Jim Zorn said earlier today that Cooley could miss six to eight weeks, a time frame that easily could have wiped out his season. Now, there is some hope but the Redskins fell to 2-5 with the loss and appear headed nowhere fast.

Doesn't matter - beating spreads, fantasy football, whatever. The NFL doesn't want to be tied in any way to anything remotely resembling gambling. If the links to Mandalay, etc aren't down by tomorrow I'd be surprised.
