Williams called up for badly needed depth Brad Biggs
Kyle Williams got a big boost in pay on the weekend for the second straight week.
The Seattle Seahawks have signed the offensive tackle to their 53-man roster from the practice squad to alleviate some serious depth issues plaguing the club going into Sunday’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars at Qwest Field.
The Seahawks did the same thing a week ago, and the only difference this time is that they released defensive lineman Michael Bennett to make room. Both pick up a game check this week because they were on the roster so late in the week. Last week, it was injured fullback Justin Griffith was was released to make room. Then, Griffith was re-signed when Williams was released and re-added to the practice squad.
Seattle will be able to put an end to musical chairs on the offensive line on the weekend when Sean Locklear returns from a high ankle sprain or veteran Walter Jones is placed on injured reserve, or both.
