The Seattle Seahawks left what was left of their 2009 season in Arizona, where they blew a 14-0 lead this afternoon, and they also left running back Julius Jones behind.

He’s the latest player to suffer an injury in a season that has been decimated by health problems. Jones is reported to have suffered a broken rib and was left for observation in a Phoenix-area hospital with bleeding in his lung.

The 31-20 loss dropped the Seahawks to 3-6 and three games behind the division-leading Cardinals. Seattle has been hit with a series of injuries on its offensive line and at linebacker and in the secondary. Additionally, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has missed time. Now, it’s Jones’ turn to miss some time. Justin Forsett will likely start in his place.

He was symptom-free and tests came back normal and so on so I did what the experts said. They felt comfortable with it and we went with it.
