Biggs: Seattle turns to yet another left tackle

At least Damion McIntosh will have the benefit of the bye week to prepare for what is expected to be his start at left tackle when the Seattle Seahawks play again on Nov. 1.

The revolving door keeps spinning at the position and he’s next after Kyle Williams was released, something that will happen when you’re a fall guy for five Matt Hasselbeck sacks in a 27-3 whipping at Qwest Field at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals.

If you’re an eternal optimist, you’re figuring that help is on the way. Word is that Walter Jones will try to practice next week. The future Hall of Fame player has not played a down this season, slowed by two knee surgeries and back spasms. There’s no telling if and when he will take the field this season. Sean Locklear, who was the first choice to replace Jones, also could be back on the practice field next week. He’s been out with a high ankle sprain. Brandon Frye, the third choice, was to to injured reserve with neck and groin injuries.

McIntosh was one of the final roster cuts in Kansas City. He has starting experience with the Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. Now, he’ll be the fourth starter this season for the Seahawks at left tackle. How long he lasts there remains to be seen. It wouldn’t take much to outlive his predecessors.
