Lendy Holmes signed from practice squad Brad Biggs
Punter Hunter Smith’s groin has finally healed up.
That’s the deduction you can make after the Washington Redskins released Sam Paulescu today, using the roster spot to promote rookie Lendy Holmes from the practice squad.
Smith has missed three games this season and Paulescu was the second punter used to fill in for him.
Holmes is an undrafted free agent from Oklahoma who was signed to the practice squad after the preseason. The Redskins needed a defensive back after placing Chris Horton on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week as a result of a toe injury.
