Shoulder still sore for quarterback Brad Biggs
There is a future for Detroit Lions fans to be thankful for, but it probably will not be on display Thursday at Ford Field when they host the Green Bay Packers in their annual Thanksgiving Day game.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, fresh off his NFL rookie record five-touchdown game vs. Cleveland, and wide receiver Calvin Johnson are doubtful to face the Packers.
Stafford suffered a separated left shoulder on the second-to-final play of the game. Johnson injured his left knee in the first quarter of the game but managed to finish the contest. It’s flared up since and coach Jim Schwartz has basically said it will be a game-time decision for both of them. He said both could play without practicing this week.
Johnson missed time earlier this season because of a right knee injury. Stafford has already missed two games because of a dislocated kneecap.

The new deal locks Celek up through 2016, and the team has now signed 22 players on the current roster to multiple contracts, proof that the Eagles are one of the most pro-active teams in the league when it comes to investing it its own players.
