The Minnesota Vikings put veteran quarterback Gibran Hamdan through a tryout today, according to a league source.
Hamdan as been available since the Buffalo Bills cut him loose last month to make room for Brian Brohm, who they signed off the practice squad of the Green Bay Packers.
Hamdan, 28, has kicked around the league with four other teams, making stops with the Redskins, Dolphins, Seahawks and 49ers. Hamdan was a seventh-round pick by Washington in 2003.
Perhaps the Vikings had him in to throw some passes. They also worked out wide receiver Taye Biddle and defensive back DeJaun Tribble. Someone has to throw them passes, right? Biddle and Tribble are proof that the UFL did some good. Both were with the Florida Tuskers, who lost in the championship game last week.

Brian Robison (Vikes DE) just said he expects the Vikings to draft Colt Mccoy in the 2010 draft and he'll learn under Favre for a year.
This means 1- Favre is probably staying for another year and 2- TJackson won't be resigned.
Good news and Good news then.
