Bears QB swallowed blood following hit Brad Biggs
Cleveland Browns linebacker Kamerion Wimbley has been fined $7,500 for a roughing the passer hit on Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler in Sunday’s game.
Wimbley hit Cutler high, near the helmet area, after an incomplete pass midway through the second quarter of the Bears’ 30-6 victory at Soldier Field. It came on third down and the call by referee Alberto Riveron extended what turned out to be the Bears’ first touchdown drive.
Cutler bit his tongue on the play and said afterward that he wound up swallowing blood into the fourth quarter.
“It doesn't help me out any,’’ Cutler said when he learned of the fine.
