The bye week came at the right time for the Minnesota Vikings, at least as far as Antoine Winfield is concerned.
The veteran cornerback was able to rest up this past week with a right foot injury that kept him out of the two games heading into the bye. He did some work on the side during practice on Monday, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. No, he didn’t participate in practice, but it’s a sign that Winfield is on the road to recovery.
“Those guys bodies talk to them and he's, like most of our guys, they are not trying to malinger or anything like that,’’ Vikings coach Brad Childress said. “They are trying to get themselves back out there and get in the mix. He's no different. He's pushed it as hard as he possibly can under doctor's orders and the next part of it is getting out here and moving on this hard surface.”
Winfield is a good bet to miss Sunday’s game with Detroit. The Vikings host Seattle on Nov. 22 and then finish a three-game homestand with a game vs. Chicago the following week.

That was dumb, but the Bears are such sad sacks that I don't see how they can win this week. Their offensive line doesn't even slow the d-line down.
