Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Marcus Easley and rookie linebacker Danny Batten have been placed on injured reserve, ending their seasons.

A fourth-round draft pick, Easley recently had surgery on his left knee.

"We have put Danny Batten and Marcus Easley on injured reserve," Bills coach Chan Gailey said tonight in remarks distributed by the team. "Obviously, it’s not what we wanted but it’s just something that had to be done looking at the long term prognosis for both of them. We just couldn’t see, time-wise, that it was going to benefit them to try to make it back this year. I think it was about what they thought to be honest with you. I didn’t tell you, but I knew it had a chance to not be good."

Meanwhile, Gailey said that injured linebacker Reggie Torbor and tight end Derek Schouman are unlikely to need surgery for their respective injuries.
