The Buffalo Bills on Monday re-signed defensive end Shawne Merriman, whom they released in August, said Jay Glazer of FoxSports.
Merriman was once one of the NFL's top pass rushers in San Diego, but was released because of injuries. He was claimed by the Bills in 2010, but his stay in Buffalo was marred by injuries as well as he played in just five games in 2011. The Bills finally gave up on him in preseason, or so it seemed. With only three healthy ends on the roster, the Bills gambled that Merriman might have something left in the tank.
