The Buffalo Bills signed tight end David Martin after he was waived by the Miami Dolphins and were awarded offensive guard Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Bills cut tight end J.P. Foschi and defensive back Dominique Harris.
In his eight-year NFL career, Martin has recorded 152 catches for 1,519 yards and 14 touchdowns in 101 games with 43 starts. The 6-foot4, 265-pound Tennessee product originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft choice of the Packers in 2001.
Urbik spent last season with the Steelers and was inactive for each game. The 6-foot-5, 323-pounder originally entered the NFL as a third-round draft choice of Pittsburgh last year.
At Wisconsin, Urbik started 50 games, earning All-Big Ten Conference honors in 2007 and 2008.
The team also announced that the following four players have been placed on the practice squad:
RB Joique Bell
RB Rodney Ferguson
WR Naaman Roosevelt
