The Buffalo Bills announced the signing of kicker Dan Carpenter on Tuesday.
This move was made because Bills kicker Dustin Hopkins sustained an injury during Monday's practice. Terms of Carpenter's deal were not immediately released.
Carpenter first signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2008. In his first five seasons with the Dolphins, Carpented made 81.9 percent of his field goals, knocking 127 out of 155 kicks through the uprights.
He was released from Miami this past August and briefly spent time with the Cardinals and Jets.
