The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran quarterback Kyle Orton as their backup to starter EJ Manuel
The Bills cut Jordan Palmer this week.
Orton was cut by the Dallas Cowboys in July.
Orton was absent from the offseason program and practices while contemplating retirement since last season.
In the Cowboys' final game last season when Tony Romo hurt his back, Orton completed 33 of 51 passes for 398 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
For his career, Orton has been a solid player. He's passed for 15,019 yards, 83 touchdowns and 59 interceptions, going 35-35 as a starter.
