Safety can become a free agent in March. Terry McCormick
The Buffalo Bills will meet with the agent for safety Jairus Byrd at the NFL Combine this week in Indianapolis, per the Associated Press.
Byrd, who is represented by Eugene Parker, can become an unrestricted free agent next month. The report indicates that the Bills and Parker have not had any contract talks thus far about retaining the veteran safety.
Byrd has always been a ball-hawking safety, as he had five interceptions and forced four fumbles in 2012. That knack for creating turnovers could potentially make him a valuable commodity if he reaches the open market.
