Veteran linebacker Bradie James signed a one-day contract to retire with the Dallas Cowboys today.
A 2003 fourth-round draft pick from LSU, James played for the Cowboys through the 2011 season before playing one year with the Houston Texans and made 15 starts.
IJames played 142 of 144 games for the Cowboys in nine NFL seasons with Dallas and had 1,009 tackles, 15.5 sacks and 11 forced fumbles. James ranks sixth in franchise history for tackles behind Darren Woodson, Lee Roy Jordan, Randy White, Dexter Coakley and Ed "Too Tall" Jones.
James didn't play last season.
