Brett Favre says his comments were misconstrued

Brett Favre is trying to put the firestorm out that erupted Monday following his radio interview in Atlanta.

The perception, at least, was that he was taking a shot at Aaron Rodgers on 790 The Zone in Atlanta when he said “the biggest surprise to me would be that (Aaron Rodgers) didn’t (win a Super Bowl) sooner.”

Favre attempted to clarify his remarks in comments to USA Today on Friday. Favre said he was misinterpreted and that he was complimentary to Rodgers and his former team.

"Nothing, for the most part, surprises me anymore,'' Favre said. "But I have to admit (the reaction to) this one surprised me.''

"It is very (infrequent) when I do interviews,'' Favre said. "I was very gracious and complimentary of the Packers and Aaron Rodgers.''

There’s two ways you can interpret this one. Favre backers will understand him. Those who grew tired of his act will believe that he was taking an underhanded shot at Rodgers.
