Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing is confident that he'll be ready to go when the season begins in September.
Cushing missed the latter half of the 2013 season with a leg injury. He's since been rehabbing, though he had to sit out workouts in the spring. But speaking to the Texans' official website, Cushing said he'll be good to go when the 2014 season rolls around.
"I know I’ll be ready," Cushing said. "I know when it’s go-time, and I need to ramp it up and get on the field, I’ll be there."
The Texans were expected to once again have one of the NFL's toughest defenses. But injuries, such as the one to Cushing, and other factors led to a dismal season that led to the club having the first-overall pick this past draft.
Cushing's presence should go a long way for the Texans to return to having one of the NFL's better defensive units.
