Britt not guilty in DUI trial at Fort Campbell

Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt was found not guilty  of driving under the influence in an incident from last July that led to his arrest, the Associated Press reports.

Britt sat through the five-hour trial and was not called to testify in the matter that occurred on an army post in Fort Campbell, Ky. on July 20, 2012.

Britt was given three field sobriety tests, then handcuffed and taken to Fort Campbell police station where he refused a Breathalyzer test. Britt signed on the implied consent form that he refused the breath test because he had passed the field sobriety tests.

The magistrate who ruled in the case threw out testimony that Britt had told two officers at the provost that he refused the Breathalyzer test because he knew he could not pass it after having three double shots at a bar.

Britt was suspended for the 2012 season opener NFL commissioner Roger Goodell following the arrest.
