Broadway Joe is sticking up for Johnny Football.
Former New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath knows what it's like to be a flamboyant young quarterback whose social life is closely scrutinized, which is what Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel is experiencing already.
“What difference does it make?” Joe Namath told NFL Network. "Really? And it is an example of the different eras and time. I do know this about Johnny Manziel, I haven’t seen anyone perform any better than Johnny the last two seasons on that football field. And I do know that we love entertainment. Football is a sport, but it is showbiz. It's entertainment. And Johnny, he’s got to live his life. Give him some room.”
What would Namath have done if he was under the microscope that Manziel is under?
“I would have had to adjust,” Namath said.
