Tight end will be limited during off-season work. Terry McCormick
Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas underwent surgery on his ankle, according to the Denver Post.
The second-year tight end played in just five games as a rookie in 2011, and will be limited during the team's off-season program, which is scheduled to begin next week.
The Broncos have added former Colt Jacob Tamme and former Texan Joel Dreessen to the roster this season, potentially putting Thomas behind on the Denver depth chart anyway. Time needed to recover from the surgery won't help Thomas in his fight for playing time.
