Broncos cut tight end Joel Dreessen

<p> The Denver Broncos have released veteran tight end Joel Dreessen with a failed physical designation.</p> <p> Dreessen caught seven passes last season, one year removed from a 41-catch season with five touchdowns.</p> <p> Dreessen underwent several operations on his left knee.</p> <p> He was due a $2.5 million base salary this year.</p> <p> Dreessen caught 48 passes for 403 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons with the Broncos.</p> <p>  </p> <p> For his career, Dreessen has 158 receptions for 1,767 yards with 19 touchdowns.</p> <p> He was selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL draft after a standout collegiate career at Colorado State University.
