Denver will have only rookie Osweiler to backup Manning on Sunday. Terry McCormick
The Denver Broncos have released backup quarterback Caleb Hanie, and signed defensive tackle Sealver Siliga to the active roster, the club announced.
Hanie's departure is a bit of a gamble, as it leaves only rookie Brock Osweiler behind Peyton Manning as the Broncos face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.
Hanie's release might not be permanent, though, as the Broncos could opt to re-sign him after week one. But it would mean his salary would not be guaranteed for the year.
