Add the Denver Broncos to the list of teams who have toyed with the idea of trading for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel.
Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos offered the Eagles either a fifth- or sixth-round pick in next week's draft for the 31-year-old cornerback. A second offer contained a late-round pick and a player, but neither offer materialized.
Earlier in the off-season, the Tennessee Titans showed interest in Samuel. But, like the Titans, the Broncos found that the Eagles' asking price and Samuel's final two expensive years on his contract are obstacles that could hold up any deal for the veteran cornerback. Samuel is due $9.9 million in 2012 and $11.5 million in 2013.
