The Denver Broncos have signed seventh-round cornerback Syd-Quan Thompson.
According to a league source, Thompson received a $57,000 signing bonus
It's believed to be a four-year deal in the neighborhood of just under $1.847 million, close to the total value of San Francisco 49ers rookie wide cornerback Phillip Adams' deal.
Adams received a $57.8 signing bonus.
Thompson was a first-team All-Pacific-10 Conference honors during each of his final two years at California, where he set a school record by starting all 52 games during his four-year career.
Thompson set a school record with 36 passes broken up in addition to seven interceptions, 257 tackles, and 20 tackles for losses.
He also recorded two sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and returned one punt for a touchdown.
He was named Cal’s Most Valuable Defensive Back as a junior and a senior.
