Linebacker still working to clear name in bounty scandal. Terry McCormick
Veteran linebacker Scott Fujita, who has been battling to clear his name in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, has a much more serious fight on his hands now.
The 11th-year linebacker, currently with the Cleveland Browns, is battling neck and shoulder injuries which could end his career, says ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Fujita did not play Sunday against Cincinnati due to the injury.
The veteran linebacker was originally suspended for three games for his alleged role in the Saints bounty program, a charge he has vehemently denied. Fujita was critical last week of Commissioner Roger Goodell, who had reduced his suspenson to one game. He issued a statement saying Goodell had abused his power and had engaged in conduct detrimental to the league.
