The Cleveland Browns dumped former second-round linebacker David Veikune today, and signed defensive back Derrick Roberson.
They also signed defensive back Derrick Roberson.
They also announced the previously reported waiver award of offensive lineman Steve Vallos and waiving offensive lineman Billy Yates.
Vallos was originally signed selected by Seattle in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2007 draft. After spending the 2007 season the practice squad, Vallos has appeared in all 16 games each of the past two years. He earned three starts last year with two at center and one at left guard.
Roberson originally signed an undrafted free agent with Houston in 2007.
Roberson spent time on the practice squads of Houston, Minnesota and Tampa Bay. He made his NFL debut with the Buccaneers last season, appearing in six games, recording three tackles and three passes defensed. He was waived by Tampa Bay on Sept. 4.
