Browns hire John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator

The Cleveland Browns hired former Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator.

He replaces Kyle Shanahan, who resigned and is now the offesnive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.

DeFilippo has never called plays in the NFL before.

He did call plays at San Jose State.

DeFilippo's job will be to get Johnny Manziel going.

Manziel completed just 18 of 35 passes for 175 yards, two interceptions and a 51.4 passer rating.

DeFilippo helped Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who passed for 3,200 yards, 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as a rookie.
