Cleveland Browns offensive guard Jason Pinkston remains sidelined for undisclosed reasons.

The Browns and his agents, Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod issued a joint statement today: "Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Jason Pinkston has not been medically cleared to participate in football activities. The team has been in communication with Jason and his representatives and will respect their wishes to not provide any further details at this time."

The Browns have shed no light on Pinkston's situation.

"Pinkston's unavailable to practice and, due to his circumstances, I cannot comment on it any further," coach Mike Pettine said. "I want to give you more, but just given the circumstances, I can't. That's where we are with Jason."

Added general manager Ray Farmer: "I think coach addressed it the best way we could. Right now, there's really no comment from our prospective, and when there is time to make a comment then that comment will be made."

Pinkston started every game as a rookie in 2011. He was on injured reserve last year before being activated from an ankle injury. In 2012, Pinkston was sidelined when he had blood clots in his lungs.

"I can assure you I'm in no legal trouble & retiring hasn't came up," Pinkston wrote on Twitter. "As far as my situation I'll leave it to them to explain."

Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider

Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
