The Cleveland Browns have made an announcement that comes as no surprise: Brandon Weeden is their starting quarterback.
Weeden started as a rookie last season and had a respectable year.
Weeden didn't have much confidence for the job with Jason Campbell signed this offseason.
Weeden has had a strong preseason, by all accounts, in offensive coordinator Norv Turner's system.
He has completed 18 of 25 passes for 229 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
"Brandon has earned this job," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski told Cleveland reporters today. "He's gained my complete trust. I felt like the timing was right.''
