The Cleveland Browns have promoted defensive back Julian Posey to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Posey, who played college football at Ohio University, spent most of his 2012 season with the Dolphins' practice squad. He was elevated the Miami's active roster for two games a year ago.
Posey's younger brother is Texans receiver DeVier Posey.
Cleveland's roster move came as a result of moving cornerback Chris Owens to the injured reserve list due to a knee injury. Owens appeared in 12 games for the Browns this season.
